Penal action likely against JK Bank for violating OTS | | | Early Times Report srinagar, May 3: Even as people are considering a criminal complaint against the Jammu Kashmir Bank Management for violating the guidelines of one time settlement (OTS), the chairman, Mushtaq Ahmad was offered some solace by a delegation of council of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) led by Waseem Trumboo. Trumboo said: "I thank J&K Bank Chairman for his valuable time and insights", said Waseem Trumboo speaking on behalf of State council of CII. He congratulated the bank for achieving a business turnover of Rs. 87,000 crores depicting remarkable growth over the past 18 months." A visibly perturbed chairman welcomed and entertained the delegation. Highlighting performance of the bank, he dwelt briefly upon its role in fueling economic growth across different sectors of J&K economy. He also talked about the services rendered by the Bank to the people of J&K State across all sectors. The delegates appreciated services rendered by the bank. Pertinently, the violation of OTS norms that cost the bank a huge amount has been seriously taken by concerned citizens. Some of them have consulted a senior lawyer for the possibility of initiating criminal proceedings against the bank management. |
