TA jawan killed in ambush by militants | | | Early Times Report kishtwar, May 3: A jawan of 159 Territorial Army (TA) was killed when militants opened fire on a search party of Army in Kulna forests of Palmar here late last night. According to official reports, troops of 17 RR, on the basis of a specific input about the presence of Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militants including its divisional commander Mohammad Amin Butt alias Jihingir Saroori in Kulna forests, launched an operation in the area. When the troops were moving towards the target at about 11 pm, the militants, who were on the hill opened fire as a result of which Noor Hussain was killed, the sources added, saying he is survived by his wife and four daughters. The militants later fled the spot. The troops had, however, launched an operation to hunt down the militants, said to be involved in the September 7, 2011, Delhi High Court blasts. Noor Hussain is the forth security personnel who had lost his life in the ongoing operation launched against HM militants involved in the Delhi High Court blast. Earlier, Naik Rakesh Kumar of 1 para commando, SPO Bilal Ahmed and SPO Muhammad Hanief were killed. Meanwhile, Army and police today jointly held guard of honour ceremony at the Kishtwar helipad to pay homage to Noor Hussain. It is worthwhile to mention here that NIA probing the Delhi High Court blast has announced a cash reward of Rs 10 lakh each on Junaid Akram Malik, Amir Kamal alias Akram and Shakir Hussain alias Chota Hafiz, all militants, for their involvement in the incident. |
