SI illegally shields his brother in law from 'raiding police team'

Jammu, May 3: In a bizarre incident a police cop violating norms and breaching oath ceremony shielded accused (who happens to be his brother in law) in a theft case who later went underground evading his arrest, police sources said.
They said that a Sub Inspector, posted as Incharge Police Post in Jammu made bid to save his brother in law, involved in theft case, from a police team from Poonch district here today.
Police sources said that a police team was dispatched to Satwari police station to identify and arrest a thief, residing in Jeewan Nagar area, but to the surprise of search team, the ICPP tactfully stopped the police team while giving a caution call to his relative i.e. his brother in law who meantime managed to go underground.
Meanwhile, finding the ICPP putting hurdles in their assignment to detain the accused, the team informed the SSP Poonch and it was after the intervention of the SSP Poonch, that raiding team was given green signal. "But it was too late for them as the accused has managed to give a slip in a bollywood bizarre, police sources said.
The police team is transiting in Satwari police station and chalking out plan to arrest the thief. Poonch police when contacted admitted the dispatch for police team to Satwari for arrest of an accused allegedly involved in a theft case. "Though refused to give the name of accused, police admitted the tough time to arrest the accused who managed to go under ground due to adamancy of the ICPP.
