| MLC urges carrying out repairs | | | Early Times Report
Nowshera, May 4 : MLC, Ravinder Sharma has urged the department of local bodies for carrying out urgent repairs of Municipal Committee property at bus stand Nowshera, besides taking over community hall at Sunderbani to put it for public use. Sharma inspected these buildings during his tour of the area and found that the community hall at Sunderbani constructed at the cost of Rs 25 lacs in the year 1997 has not been even taken over by the department, which is utter negligence and failure.
The building is in disuse. He asked the department to settle the matter with the owner of the land and take over the same for public use, after carrying out necessary renovations. At Nowshera bus stand, Municipal Committee properties worth corers of rupees is in use for commercial and office purposes on rent basis also but the property is in bad shape and almost going unsafe, in the absence of any repairs for the last several years. A public library comprising of around four thousand books in the same building is also in bad shape. The prominent citizens of Nowshera town accompanied Sharma to apprise him of the situation of the property and difficulties faced by the common people.
Sharma assured the citizens to get the passengers' shed at bus stand renovated, besides construction of water tank out of his CDF and take up other issues with the minister concerned. Sharma telephonically conveyed to the Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand the demands of the public with regard to his department and urged him for early necessary action. |
