Detained Kashmiri families sent to JIC Humhuma | | | Early times report Jammu , May 4 : A group of 40 Kashmiris' detained on the Indo-Nepal border illegally entering to Indian side few days ago, today reached Srinagar and were sent to the Joint Interrogation Centre (JIC) Humhuma for mandatory briefing stated official sources. "The Jammu and Kashmir Police took over the custody of the group members comparing twelve men, six women and twenty two children soon after their arrival from New Delhi," sources said. According to official sources in the state police, "after the customary interrogation about the personal verification of the said batch, the women and children were let off while the twelve were kept in custody of JIC for necessary follow up action on Friday." Police would interrogate the men to know the purpose and provocation behind returning India after a passage of over two decades with their families from the other side, sources said. According to reports these 12 men had crossed over to POK more than two decades ago and were settled down in POK after their marriage with the local women. It may be mentioned that the group had reached Kathmandu from Pakistan a couple of days ago and were held while infiltrating to India illegally on April 29. They were detained by the security personnel as they did not have valid documents. |
