| NPSU demands closure of divider in front of JU gate | | | Early times report
Jammu , May 4 : National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) under the leadership of Varinder Singh, President JU wing of NPSU held a protest demonstration at the main gate of University of Jammu and has demanded for the closure of diversion in front of the main gate as number of accidents are occurring resulting in injuries to number of students, scholars and employees. Interacting with media persons Varinder Singh opined that it is a total negligence on part of the Traffic police which has maintained a criminal silence even after a number of accidents have occurred at the site. Singh said that it is surprising that when some VIP or VVIP's has to come to the university they (traffic police) depute one or two constables and as soon the visit of the VIP and VVIP's comes to an end, they forget the issue.
He further said that few days back in a similar incident a senior research scholar of the university lost his life but the traffic police and university administration instead of taking any such lesson from the incident are giving irrelevant excuses.
He has also urged upon the IGP Traffic to intervene into the matter and direct the concerned authorities to close the diversion so that the valuable lives may be saved otherwise the NPSU will launch a massive protest and shall not allow the movement of the vehicles on the road through this route. |
