Nursing students must render committed service to masses: Jugal
RGCN organizes awareness programme

jammu, May 5 : Pioneering the B.Sc (Nursing) Course in the year 2008 in state, the Rajiv Gandhi College of Nursing (RGCN) here today celebrated cultural programmes comprising of various events and awareness activities with an aim to spread message on female foeticide, atrocities on women and also performed entertaining programmes. Former Minister and MLC Jugal Kishore Shar-ma was the Chief Guest on the occasion whereas Dr Pritam Katoch BMO Bhalwal Block was the guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest Jugal Kishore Sharma underlined the quality of education and asked the college authorities and students pursuing different courses in the institution to be the part of alleviating the problems of the masses and to upgrade healthcare system. He asked them to render their services to theailing masses to give a healing touch. Congress MLC Sharma also appreciated the management and the staff of the college for organizing such an event with an objective to create awareness among the masses about social menaces. Sharma also distributed the prizes amongst the students for their outstanding performance. Earlier the host institute RGCN honoured Jugal Kishore Sharma on being inducted as Member of Legislative Council recently. Presenting the welcome address Chairman of the College Er M S Katoch highlighted the need of such prgrommes in the state of J&K.
He also said that there is a huge demand of qualified Nurses not only in hospitals but are also in demand by educational institutions Dr Pritam Katoch BMO also appreciated the functioning of the college and told that the students who are going under training in the PHCs were serving pe-ople with full dedication. The Sarpanch of village Seri Panditan also was present on the occasion. Others present on the occasion included Dr Anita Bali, Sun-anda Sh-arma, Puran Chand Sh-arma, Hukum Chand Sharma, Ra-hul, Mehak Man has. In the onset of occasion college annual report was presented by the Principal of the college highlighting the achievements of college since its inception.
