Erstwhile Maharaja left spell bound at 'Kashmiri splendor' by kashmir art | | | Early Times Report
Jammu ,May 5: Richard Holkar, the erstwhile Maharaja of Indore during his appreciated Kashmir's art and craft after having a visit in "The Splendor of Kashmir" presently being organized at national capital. According to organizer, reputed designer Varuna Anand, "Holker having being connected to Kashmir from childhood, he was most eager to see the collection put together at the delicacy and colourfulness of apparels exhibited at the 'Splendor of Kashmir' "He showed great interest in the Sui Kaam Jamavars and the Kani shawls, she said over a phone from New Delhi. Pertinent to mention that he appreciated the quality, designing and color combination displayed by Varuna Anand put together after a lot of effort and hard work. Exalted overt the visit by the erstwhile royal personality from Holkar dynasty she said, "It was indeed an honor to have Richard Holkar's visit at "The Splendor of Kashmir.' For inept Richard's father, Yeshwant Rao II Holkar, was amongst the world's most stylish and flamboyant Maha raja's. Richard Holkar is also responsible for the revival of the Maheshwari Fabric. under the Rehwa society which not only opened employment avenues for his people but also raised their socio- economic status besides relocating the ancient traditional art and craft. |
