| Anganwai Workers to hold nation wide protest in New Delhi, Neelam | | | JAMMU | JAN 28 Reiterating its demand to declare Anganwari Workers and Helpers as Government employees, Neelam Sharma General Secretary Anganwari Workers Welfare Association, affiliated to Akhil Bhartiya Anganwari Karamchari Maha Sangh (ABAKMS) and Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), today announced that a nation wide protest rally and demonstration is being organized by the ABAKMS and BMS on March 14 at New Delhi to focus the attention of the government towards the problems of thousands of Anganwari worker and helpers who have been demanding their absorption in the government service and provision of all benefits as are applicable to the state government employees. Addressing the annual conference of the Association held at Geeta Bhawan here today, Neelam Sharma said workers and helpers from all the states in the country would join the proposed rally at New Delhi. Delegates from different districts, tehsils, blocks and villages, besides the senior leaders of BMS including Lakshman Ravinder Singh, Ashok Choudharty, attended today’s conference. Raj Kumari State vice president, Kiran Pathania, Krishna Devi. Soma Devi Santosh Kumari, Koushalya Devi and Parsinno Devi were among those present on the occasion. The speakers forcefully demanded enhancement of salary of Anganwari workers to Rs 5000 per month and that of helpers to Rs.3000. Lakshman Ravinder called upon the Mahila Shakti to participate in the Delhi demonstration in large numbers and get united for their just and genuine cause. The conference strongly pleaded for constitution of district and state level grievances committees to look after the problems of the workers as also introduction of group insurance scheme for them.
