Supari Killing Case: Witness indicts senior Police officers | "I was tortured to record tortured statement" | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 5: A witness in the infamous Suprai killing case in which then Supt Kot-Bhalwal Jail, Ch Nagar Singh, Ch Jagar Singh & Ors were allegedly involved to kill the witnesses of Amandeep Murder case, today turned tables on Jammu police When he leveled serious allegations against Police officers while recording his statement before the Court of 2nd Additional Sessions Judge Jammu. Harmeet Singh in his statement stated that on March 18, 2011 police took him and kept in safe house and physically tortures him about 8/10 days and asked him to appear as police witness otherwise he will be involved in this case and killed in fake encounter. He further stated that the police tortured him the statement for about 3 days after which police produced him before Judicial Magistrate where his statement u/s 164-A was recorded. He further said that his statement was recorded under pressure of Police. He further stated that while he was in police custody so many police officials physically tortured him. He also leveled allegations of torture against former DIG Jammu-Kathua range Farooq Khan and denied that he knew Nagar Singh or Sunny Baba personally. According to the case, accused, namely Yudhvir Singh Sumit Chowdhary @ Sunny, Rakesh Giri, Akram Khan, Jatinder Kumar, Surinder Singh @ Shanti Suresh Kumar @ Tunda, were hired by accused Jaggar Singh to eliminate Sudhershan Singh Wazir who wasd an eye witness in infamous Amandeep Murder Case. Rs.10 lacs were fixed as cash payable as "Supari" by accused Jaggar Singh to other accused. It has been further found out by the Investigating Agency that accused Surinder Singh @ Shanti was assigned the task of arranging weapons. Rs. 50,000/- was paid as advance by accused Jaggar Singh to aforesaid accused through accused Surinder Singh @ Shanti for carrying out the aforesaid object of criminal conspiracy. It is further found in the investigation that accused Suresh Kumar @ Tunda arranged a motor cycle, bearing no. JKO2P-4050 for accused Akram Khan and Jatinder Kumar, by spending Rs.16, 500/-. On 17th of November 2010, after holding a meeting in the rented house of Suresh Kumar @ Tunda, situated at Bikram Chowk, Jammu, accused, Suresh Kumar @ Tunda, Akram Khan and Jatinder Kumar, proceeded for Deva Palace, Preet Nagar, Jammu, on their bikes, where said Sudershan Singh Wazir has to attend a marriage function of one Jasbir Singh. They were armed with Pistols and Desi Katta. It is further in the investigation of the police that accused Rakesh Giri was also found there. However, aforesaid accused persons were identified by said Jasbir Singh and by others and they whisked away. Thereafter, accused Surinder Singh @ Shantu, take back the weapons from the aforesaid accused and handed over the same to accused Rakesh Giri, Yudhvir Singh and Sumit Chowdhary. Investigating Agency has further found in their investigation that again on 20th of November 2010, Sudershan Singh Wazir has to attend another marriage function of said Jasbir Singh, at City Palace, Bye-pass, Jammu. Accused, namely Rakesh Giri, Yudhvir Singh and Summit Chowdhary @ Sunny Baba, by boarding a motorcycle having no. 2163- JKO2AN, entered from the backside of aforesaid Palace, while armed with Pistols and Desi Kattas. On seeing, Gurmeet Singh, SHO, P/S R.S.Pura, the aforesaid accused fled away from the said palace. Thereafter, accused were finding opportunities for eliminating Sudershan Singh Wazir. On 21st of November 2010, SHO, P/S Miran Sahib, got information that accused had assembled in the Dak Bunglow, at Maralian. He, thereupon, started following the accused. On seeing the police movement, accused fled away towards Jammu. At this, SHO, P/S Miran Sahib, also proceeded towardsJammu. Near Satyam Resort, accused namely Rakesh Giri, Yudhvir Singh and Summit Chowdhary @ Sunny Baba were found coming by boarding a motorcycle, having no. 2163-JKO2AN. They were signaled by the police party. At this, accused after dropping down from the motorcycle, started firings with Pistols and Desi Kattas on the police party with having common criminal intention to kill the members of the police party. Simultaneously, the police party, in retaliation, started firings in their defence and in the police firing, accused Rakesh Giri and Yudhvir Singh, sustained bullet injuries on their legs and fell down. However, accused Sumit Chowdhary @ Sunny Baba succeeded in fleeing from the spot. It is further in the police investigation that injured Rakesh Giri, later on, succumbed to his injuries. Police seized a pistol having USA make, with four alive rounds from the custody of accused Rakesh Giri . Moreover, one Desi Katta and four rounds were recovered from the custody of accused Yudhvir Singh @ Babloo. Thereafter, SHO, P/S Miran Sahib, sent a docket through constable Sohan Lal, No. 1013-J to P/S Channi Himmat, for lodging FIR. On this, FIR, having no. 164/2010, for commission of offences u/ss 307/34 RPC and 3/7/25 Arms Act was lodged with the Police Station Channi Himmat, Jammu. Investigation of this case FIR, was entrusted to Inspector Karanjeet Singh, SHO, P/S Channi Himmat, Jammu, who during investigation, prepared the site plan and recovered/ seized eight empties of cartridges of AK-47, two emptied of cartridges of pistol 9MM, two emptied of cartridges of pistol 7.65. Earlier recovered ammunition, as detailed here in before from the accused, was also seized by the Investigating Officer. More so, he also seized one AK-47 rifle along with magazine, containing 22 alive rounds, which were produced by Constable Amrik Singh, no. 409/IRP. Two mobile phones, belonging to accused Rakesh Giri and Yudhvir Singh were also seized. Police Gypsy and motor cycle belonging to accused, were also seized. Accused Yudhvir Sigh was lifted from spot and got admitted in GMC Jammu, for treatment. Police after investigation of this FIR, found the involvement of accused, namely Rakesh Giri, Yudhvir Singh, Sumit Chowdhary @ Sunny Baba, Jaggar Singh, Suresh Kumar @ Tunda, Jatinder Akram Khan, Surinder Singh @ Shantu for commission of offences u/ss 307/34/120-B RPC and 3/25 Arms Act. However, offence u/s 7/25 was dropped against the accused during investigation. —JNF |
