EJAC appeals employees to observe strike on May 8,9 | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 6 : The J&K Government Employees Joint Action Committee (K) Khurshid Alam called upon all employees to observe two days strike on May 8 and 9 and a Srinagar challo march to Gherao civil secretariat at Srinagar on May 9. Addressing a press conference here today, state vice president EJAC (K) and Joint Consultative Committee member Kulwant Singh took strong exception to the 'anti- employees and anti-workers' attitude of the state govt. by adopting delaying tactics and side tracking the issues by backing out from its agreement made with JCC leaders on September 15, 2011 and compelling the employees to resort to strike. Singh strongly castigated the govt for being oblivious over the burning demands of the employees and workers particularly in view of the inflation and sky rocketing prices of all essential commodities. The Government has done nothing to formulate the policy for regularization of educational volunteers, casual, seasonal, contractual and daily rated workers who are working since long, he lamented. EJAC (K) called upon the State and Public Sector employees, teachers and workers through the length and breadth of the State to observe two days Kaam Chod Hartal on May 8 and 9 and move to Civil Sectt at Srinagar for Gherao on May 9 to show unity and solidarity. |
