| CNGEEU for strengthening system of PDD, PDC | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 6: The J&K Central Non - Gazetted Electrical Employees Union (JKCNGEEU) said today that Power Development Department (PDD) and Power Development Corporation (PDC) have been facing lot of problems due to shortage of staff and it requires strengthening of the System. Addressing a Press Conference here today, Parshotam Sharma, state general secretary and Mohd Aslam Choudhary, Provincial President said that in 1981 re-organisation hardly 60% of the Department was effected while several areas remained untouched since then a lot of infrastructure has been added but the Field Division remained below at par to run the system properly. He pointed out that a station where at least 10 to 12 men are required, hardly 2 to 3 men are made available to run the system. Field Staff is also under pressure due to vast area of responsibility allotted to them. The Daily Wagers in Power Dev Deptt. and Power Development Corporation in the State are mostly running the system, but they too, are being discriminated and they require regularization in addition to that about three times more staff members required to be appointed. Meanwhile, Rafiq Ahmed Khanyari and Parshotam Sharma (both senior members, JCC ), have requested all the employees of Power Development Department and Power Development Corporation to observe" KAAM CHHOR HART AL" on May 8 and 9 in order to boost the morale of the struggling employees and to remind the Government of the agreement made with JCC. |
