Residents rue poor civic amenities | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 6 : The people of New Plot are facing a lot of problems on account of traffic rush and jams, unscheduled power cuts and dilapidated condition of lanes and drains. This was stated by New Plot Mohalla Welfare Committee President Jagdish Raj Magotra while addressing a press conference alongwith other office bearers of the committee at Jammu on Sunday. Magotra said frequent power cuts are being imposed in the area round the year and now after Darbar Move, the situation has worsened as duration of these cuts have gone up. No one knows when the light will be available and when it will be off. Magotra said that New Plot road is one of the busiest roads in Jammu with heavy flow of vehicles. Magotra further said that the lanes and drains in New Plot localities are also creating problems. In some places, the lanes have not been properly repaired, levelled and covered after digging by NBCC. The JMC staff deputed for the cleanliness takes least interest towards regular lifting of garbage and ensuring smooth flow liquid waste in drains. He further added that the people of the area also expect the local MLA to take up the matter with the concerned departments. Mohalla Welfare Committee Vice-Presidents Daleep Pandoh and Hari Krishan Koul, General Secretary Joginder Pal and Secretary Balbir Ram were also present in the press conference. |
