Sham inaugurates medical camp | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 6 : Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma today inaugurated a medical camp at Basawa, Chowki Choura tehsil Akhnoor organized by Block Medical Officer in collaboration with Directorate of Health Service Jammu. On the occasion, Sham said that the coalition government would continue its endeavour to meet the aspiration of the people of the state, while hoping that the common masses will extend their sincere cooperation to put the state back on the track of progress and development. The Minister was interacting with a cross section of people, including representative of various social and religious organization as well as sarpanchs and panchs during his visit to Basawa near Chowki Choura. He also chaired a mammoth religious function organized by Bua Datti Temple Management Committee at Basawa. He also paid obeisance at Bua Datti temple and prayed for peace and prosperity of the state. The Minister said that faster development of the area was receiving priority attention in the policy and planning and various schemes in health, R&B, PHE, Tourism and education sectors have been initiated to ensure balanced development of the area. He said that religious tourism project is in offing and parks and other comprehensive projects will also be started soon in the area. Responding to the demand of the locals, the Minister asked the Director Horticulture to prepare a comprehensive project report for developing a park in which the saplings of fruits and medicinal plants would be grown so that the people of the area would be benefited by these plants and would earn their livelihood from this project. He also instructed the PHE authorities to construct a water tank of 5000 gallon capacity for the convenience of public as well as for the park. Later, the Minister visited Baba Kailakh Nathji Devstan at Ban Talab and paid obeisance and prayed for peace and prosperity in the state. Director Health Services Jammu, Madhu Khullar, Director Horticulture, K K Sharma, Director Floriculture, J N Sharma, Chief Medical Officer Jammu and officers of concerned departments were also accompanied by the Minister. |
