| Congress committed for socio-economic development of masses: Koul | | | JAMMU JAN-28
As a part of its program to create awareness among the general masses about implementation of several centrally sponsored schemes aiming at the socio-economic transformation of the people especially those living below the poverty line, the Block Congress Committee of Jammu West Constituency has started a mass awareness campaign in length and breadth of the constituency.
The program envisages holding of meetings and interacting with the people irrespective of their party affiliations to make them aware of the schemes under execution in the state for bettering the lot of the down-trodden and weaker sections of the society and also for overall development of the state which has been the victim of militancy since last nearly two decades.
To achieve its objective of reaching out to the people and listen their grievances and problems the party activists have fanned out in the constituency, said J L Koul Block President of Jammu West .He said the party leaders are holding way side meetings in every nook and corner of the constituency to apprise the people about these schemes and the need to maintain communal amity and brotherhood pre-requisite for the overall development of the State.
Koul said that during the last four years of coalition dispensation especially during the last one year of Congress-led government, the state has witnessed a sea change in the development front adding that a number of projects have been taken up in the constituency which is being represented by the veteran party leader and Health and Medical Education Minister Pt.Mangat Ram Sharma.
The Block President asked the party activists to listen to the problems of the people and bring them to the notice of the party authorities so that remedial measures are taken to address these at the earliest. He appealed the people to strengthen the Congress party and help to restore peace in the state.
