`Publish list of recognized associations' | | | early times report jammu, May 7: Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council has been urged to publish list of those recognized association with the autonomous sports body so that common masses are aware of those genuine sports organizations working in the state. In this regard a letter has been written to vice-president of the Council, Sports Minister, R S Chib and incharge secretary, Kiran Wattal by vice-president of J&K Wushu Association, Ranjit Kalra. "Those recognized association with Sports Council must be notified through publications in the daily newspapers of the state so that some self-style groups may not befool the parents, who want their children excel in sports," said Kalra. Adding he said, "We should encourage new games and make an attempt to popularise them but their legal status vis a vis Sports Council and the government should be known to the public at large." In a statement issued here today, Kalra said that as the certificates, medals and positions achieved in these disciplines become a case of disputed eligibility the players feel cheated and demoralised. It would be both in the interest of the game and the players that the Sports Council periodically notifies the list of the such associations recognised by it so that the future of the players is secure and their talent is recognised in the right and credible forums. |
