52nd Raising Day of Border Roads Organisation celebrated | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 7: Project Sampark celebrated the 52nd raising day of Border Roads Organisation (BRO) with great fanfare and enthusiasm. Official spokesperson said BRO was raised on 07th May 1960 and has immensely contributed to road development in remote and difficult border areas. "Project Sampark looks after the construction, improvement and maintenance of approximately 2600 km of strategic road in border district of Jammu, Kathua, Doda, Udhampur, Rajouri, Reasi & Poonch since last 37 years and has been a major contributor in enhancing the socio-economic growth and ensuring all round sustainable development of the region, he added. He said, "The celebrations started with pooja at Unit Mandir followed by GREF Sammelan, where the Umesh Chander Mehta, Chief Engineer,Project Sampark addressed all ranks of the Project. He complimented all ranks on behalf of Lieutenant General S.Ravishankar, Director General of Border Roads Organisation and read out his message. He congratulated all ranks on their excellent efforts, hard work and perseverance in successfully bringing Project Sampark to the second position amongst all the 18 Projects of Border Roads Organisation all over India. GREF Sammelan concluded with tea with the troops. In continuation of the celebrations, there was Border Roads Organ isation Wives Welfare Association meet, where all families interacted. |
