Arora appointed new VC SKUAST | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 7: Eminent Agricultural Scientist Dilip K Arora has been appointed the new Vice Chancellor of the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Jammu, replacing Shaleen Kabra. Governor N N Vohra, who is Chancellor of SKUAST- Jammu, in consultation with Chief Minister and Pro-Chancellor of the University Omar Abdullah, appointed Arora from a panel recommended by a search committee headed by former Director General, Indian Council of Agricultural Research Mangala Rai, an official spokesman said. Arora, is currently Director, National Bureau of Agriculturally Important Microorganisms, Kusm aur, Uttar Pradesh. He is the recipient of many national and international awards and honours. Among others he was awarded the French Government Scholarship for Higher Research Training (1980), National Scholarship to Study Abroad (1981), Young Associate, Indian Academy of Sciences (1985-90), National Associate, University Grants Commission. , New Delhi (1984), UNESCO-Biotechnology Fellow (1993), Rothamsted International Fellow (1994-95), Post-Doctoral Visiting Fellow, Japan Society for Promotion of Science, Japan (1996-97), Fellow, Association of Microbiologists of India (2010). |
