| 3 day workshop of scouts, guides concludes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 7: A 3- day workshop for the Scouts and Guides was conducted by Dr Gurcharan Singh Ghai (ALT) (State Head Quarter Commissioner J & K Bharat Scouts and Guides), P. L Dubey, Pre-ALT(S) (District Trg Commissioner Jammu), M. M. Sharma, Basic Commissioner (Zonal Commr Satwari Area) Manjeet Kour (Guider), Kasturi Lal Sharma (Scouter) The activities of the workshop were "Parvesh Course and Pratham Course". Under 'Parvesh course' the cadets were given the history of the movement, its motto, Sign and Salute, Left hand Shake. On the 3rd day of the workshop a special assembly was conducted by the cadets of Scouts and Guides. The resource person P. L Dubey, addressed the students and told them that the purpose of Scouts and Guides is to contribute to the development of young people in achieving their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potentials as individuals and responsible citizens of India. It was followed by Scouts and Guides prayer and flag hoisting by the Principal- Anu Jandial, a flag song, a pledge and a promise. It is planned that the Scouts and Guides will be given ample opportunities to undergo testing camps from Parvesh onwards till Rashtrapati Scouts / Guides award which is a prestigious and highest award for any Scout and Guide. |
