Lifer to associate of accused Abu Hamza | Killing of six of a family | | early times report Jammu, May 7: Presiding Officer Designated Court under TADA/POTA Sanjay Parihar today awarded life-imprisonment and fine of Rs 5000 to one Akeel Ahmed a close associate of terrorists Abu Tariq and Abu Hamza who killed six of a family of deceased Baldev Raj, his brother Khetar Pal, Ashok Kumar, Geeta Devi w/o Khetar Pal and six months old son of Khetar Pal and Kuldeep Kumar who too was son of deceased Baldev Raj on December 31, 2001 in Mohalla Hiatpura of Mangnar Area at the behest of Pakistan Intelligence Service (ISI) agency. While awarding sentence Court after Deputy Director Prosecution Sikander Mohan Kapoor for the state whereas Adv BL Chatha for the accused convict observed that in all six people were gunned down by the terrorists by indiscriminate firing and even the six months old boy was not spared. So the occurrence has been perpetrated in gruesome and diabolical way but having regarded the fact that accused Akeel Ahmed has only facilitated the actual act done by two terrorists namely Abu Tariq and Abu Hamza. Though he shared the common intention with the two terrorists, but that may have been outcome of undue advantage drawn by the two terrorists of tender age of accused Akeel Ahmed. He has under gone ordeal of trial of more than 10 years and for offence u/s 302 RPC awarded sentence of imprisonment of life and fine Rs 5000 to convict Akeel Ahmed. |
