Two dead, four injured in Ambulance- Sumo collision

Jammu May 7: Two persons died on spot while four others received critical injuries in a head on collision of two vehicles that took place on Jammu Akhnoor road here at village Badada, Kanachak area today.
"The deceased were identified as Vinod Kumar (19) son of Darshan Lal of Thanda Pani, and Sanjeev Kumar (45) a resident of Sunderbani, police sources said. Police sources said, "Injured have been identified as Ankush Sharma son of Darshan Lal of Sunderbani, Ram Lal son of Kishu Ram of Sunderbani (52) and Krishan Lal son of Keshu Ram of Thandapani Sunderbani (50), and Kamlesh Devi wife of Darshan Lal.
The mishap occurred when an ambulance (van) collided with a Tata Sumo on the Jammu Poonch highway during wee hours. However on receiving information, sources said, a police team from Kanachak Police Station rushed to the spot and started rescue operation.
The injured were rushed to the GMC hospital for treatment, while the bodies were shifted to the mortuary room of the hospital for post mortem.
