MLC Jugal felicitated

Ramban, May 8 : Newly elected MLC and former Minister , Jugal Kishore Sharma was today given a warm welcome in a felicitation function by his INC party workers and public at Maitra in Ramban.
On his maiden visit to Ramban after becoming the MLC Jugal was garlanded and heartily welcomed by a large number of people from the cross section of society in a function organised jointly by MLA, Ramban and District Congress President, Bharat Gandhi at Ramlila ground. While expressing his gratitude to the public of Ramban he gave all the credit for the development of Ramban district and his success as well to the Union Health Minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh. He lauded the role of Azad for the development of J&K .
While reminiscing his childhood days in Maitra Ramban he promised to strive his best for the development of Ramban along with other backward areas of erstwhile Doda district with the magnanimity of Azad , Sonia Gandhi and Dr. Manmohan Singh.He eulogized Azad for granting the district status to Ramban, establishing a degree college and mini-secretariat and laying a network of roads Ramban district and for extending rural health facilities under NRHM.
He said that after realizing the role and achievements of Azad now majority of people in J&K want him back in the state.He assured to get an auditorium constructed at the venue-Ramlila ground , at Maitra in Ramban.
He lauded the Congress for granting grassroot power to the countrymen through Panc hayati Raj institution.
He recalled the pioneering role of former Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi in the construction of the Baglihar Hydel Power Project at Chanderkot in Ramban. He said that with the formation of new districts the job opportunities to the unemployed youth increased and the development got a big boost.
He thanked Azad for completing the dream project of 25 Km long Karol-Kastigarh road initiated in 1974 by former Minister from Ramban, PN Raju.
He demanded an early recruitment of constables in JKP in Ramban district and urged the Chief Minister to establish all the departments with full staff in the newly created districts. He asked the MLA Ashok to make all efforts for the availability of a bus for the students of degree college, Ramban.
During his speech MLA Ashok landed Congress high command for making Jugal the MLC and hoped that with Jugal's elevation as MLC his efforts to develop Ramban would be redoubled.
He expressed his satisfaction on the establishment of a Hydraulic division in Ramban. He assured that a new bridge would be soon constructed in place of dilapidated Maitra bridge with the cooperation of Azad.He said that he has got two new high schools sanctioned for Ramban constituency and informed that so far he has provided Rs.1.50 crore from his CDF and Matching Share for the electrification of unelectrified villages in Ramban.
He announced the sanctioning of an ambulance for Ramban hospital from his CDF. He expressed his solidarity with the Ramban Auto Drivers' Union and promised to get their grievances redressed.
Speaking on the occasion former MLA, Ramban and District President Congress. Bharat Gandhi said only 126 year old Congress party can only bring progress and peace in the state.
He demanded the complete merger of J&K with the country. Block Congress President, Budhi Singh, President Congress Women Wing , Narinder Kour, Ramsu Block Congress President, Farooq Katoch, District Youth President Arun Raju, Mazdoor Union and INTUC President, Mohd. Akram Malik, Vice President INTUC, Gopal Krishen Raina, Senior PDP leader, Abdul Aziz Katoch, senior Congress leader Tariq Salim and Nasir Ahmed also spoke on the occasion.
