Gupta tours border areas, listens to public grievances | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, May 8 : Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Subash Gupta today convened series of public meetings to take stock of grievances and demands of the people of the border areas. During the day long tour, Gupta visited Salalpur, Korupunnu, in Barnoti block and listened to the problems of the people.People from Salalpur panchayat accorded a rousing reception to Gupta amid drum beats and slogan in his praise . While addressing the public meeting at Salalpur, Gupta said that service to the public is his main motto and he would leave no stone unturned for the development and prosperity of the area. He said the coalition Government was committed to provide all basic amenities to the people of the state, especially living in rural and far off pockets. He said that government was providing adequate opportunities of jobs, development and other facilities to the people with focus on rural areas. The education, health, road connectivity, PHE sectors remained areas of priority and massive development in these sectors has taken place, he added. Responding to the local demands, the MLC assured them that all the genuine developmental demands would be addressed on priority. He announced Rs. 3 lakh for the development of Salalpur Panchayat. Later, during his visit to Korupunnu, Gupta inaugurated newly constructed Lanes/drains completed at a cost of Rs. 4.80 lakh and also inaugurated newly installed electric transformer at an estimated cost of Rs. 3.50 lakh under his Constituency Development Fund (CDF). |
