AJKMMC urges Govt to redress demands of Muslim migrants | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, May 8: All J&K Muslim Migrants Committee (AJKMMC) has strongly urged upon the Government to redress the genuine demands of Muslim migrants from Kashmir Valley. Addressing a pres conference here today, AJKMMC president Fida Hussain alongwith Vice President, Nazir Ahmed Lone said that the Muslim Migrants have played vital role during elections in 1996, 2002 and 2008, which has irked the militants organizations, thereby result in migration of Muslims. These Muslim migrants have maintained the sanctity of constitution of India in Kashmir Valley. They requested to the Government not to furnish information to any RTI activist regarding the Muslim migrants from Kashmir Valley settled at Jammu in the interest of their security. In case such information is furnished, the identity of such RTI activist having origin from Kashmir Valley must be disclosed to RTI Commissioner and information should be provided only after proper CID verification of the said activist. In case such persons (RTI activists) are found related to any militant organization, action must be taken against him and the information should be denied. The Committee further demands enhancement of migrant relief amount from Rs 5000 to 20000 per month. |
