| Ashoora arrangements reviewed at Anantnag | | | Anantnag, Jan 28 Ashoora arrangements in Anantnag district were reviewed at a joint meeting of district officers and representatives of Shia community chaired by District Development Commissioner here yesterday. The meeting while taking in depth review of the arrangements was told that sufficient stocks of essentials including rice, atta, sugar, k-oil, etc are available to cater to the needs of the people during the holy days of Muharram. The PHE department has made adequate arrangements for providing water through tankers to the areas having scarcity of drinking water. The PDD has been asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the Shia dominated localities. The meeting was told that forest department has already dumped 280 quintals of firewood in Shia dominated areas. The medical department has established make shift first aid centres and adequate drugs to be provided to the people. Street lights have been installed wherever required. The District Development Commissioner called upon the officers to coordinate for the smooth conduct of Alam Sharief processions and also make all facilities available to the mourners.
