After reaching the hospital in the morning, doctors and paramedical staff went on strike, demanding action against those who had manhandled the staff in the emergency ward yesterday.

The NGOs, however, refuted the charge, while condemning the attack on doctors and paramedical staff yesterday.
The strike was called off by doctors following assurance from police that action would be taken against the accused.
Due to their strike, patients, including children, suffered a lot.
Meanwhile, people held a demonstration outside the office of Deputy Commissioner here and blocked the highway in protest against shortage of doctors at DH, Kishtwar.
Due to road blockade, the vehicular movement remained disrupted for more than four hours. The people demanded immediate filling of all the vacant posts, including 30 posts of assistant surgeons, 9 posts of specialist doctors and over 50 posts of paramedical staff.
