Early Times Report
Jammu, May 9: The National Panthers Student Union (NPSU) has urged the Congress MLAs to withdraw support to the `corrupt, ant-national and unconstitutional' Government led by Sheikh Abdullah's grandson, Omar Abdullah. The NSPU also called for social boycott of the Congress legislators.
The demand was put forth during a protest held by the NPSU at Press Club here. The protesters raised slogans against the coalition Government.
Reports said the NPSU activists had plans to torch the Congress effigy. However, police intervened and tried to snatch the effigy before it could be set ablaze; reports said adding the effigy was torn into pieces in the `fight' for the effigy. Speaking on the occasion NPSU leaders, Yogesh Talwar and Devinder Singh lambasted the Congress Party for continuing its support to the coalition Government which, according to them, has set new records of corruption. They also accused the Government of getting the state enlisted as number first corrupt state in India.
Later addressing the media persons, Pradesh president, Partap Singh Jamwal, said that Congress was equally responsible for the turmoil of the state as they are continuing their support to this Government against the aspirations and wishes of the general people of the State.
He warned the Congress leadership to immediately withdraw their support to NC so that the miseries of the general public come to an end. "NSPU shall hold protest demonstrations at the respective residences of the sitting MLAs and Ministers of the Congress if the party fails to meet the demand", he said.. Jamwal further said that the State Congress leaders play like a 'B' team under the `corrupt' Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, only to seek favors and benefits from him at the cost of the people. He said that the Congress MLAs are the worst enemies of the people of Jammu Pradesh as the present corrupt Government is surviving on the crutches of the Congress MLAs. He said Omar Abdullah has only 29 MLAs which are less than one-third. "He is Chief Minister only because of Congress MLAs", he added.
The NPSU leaders appealed the students and youth to join hands to throw out corrupt, criminal and anti-national Government. NPSU leaders declared that social boycott shall be organized in front of the house of Legislator of the Congress in J&K. The social boycott shall continue till Congress shall withdraw its support and the people are saved from ruthless and tyrant Government.
NPSU leaders present in this protest included S Manmeet Singh (City President NPSU), Sahil Mustaq (Vice President City NPSU), S GurJeet Singh, Sunny Sharma, Prikishit Jamwal, Shubam Kotwal, Ankush Sharma, George Sagarwal, Vinod Bhat, Jashvinder, Sidharth Dogra, Vikram Singh Bhau, Mohit Anand, Rajat Chib, Anwer Shekh, Kameel Preet Singh, Deepak Raj Panday, Lovesh Gagan etc.
