CEO fails to reply RTI application, alleges JKNPP | | | Early Times Report KATHUA, May 10: Jammu Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) has condemned the CEO Kathua for not replying an RTI application which was submitted on February 24 last. Addressing a press conference here today, the district vice president of JKNPP Youth wing president Amit Sharma said that as per norms the department has to give a reply in a month but even after passage of over two months no response has been received. He criticized the CEO for violating the RTI act 2009 of Jammu and Kashmir which was implemented in the state with a motive to bring transparency in the administrative functioning. Sharma said that delaying of reply has shown that there is something wrong or department is unknown about the importance of RTI. JKNPP leader said after not receiving the reply of RTI from CEO Kathua I had approached to first appellate authority DDC Kathua on March 29 last who on the spot directed CEO Kathua to provide the details demanded as per RTI, but even after this direction no reply has been provided by the CEO Kathua against my RTI. He said our CM Omar Abdulla never seemed exhausted to appreciate the importance of RTI act and stressed the public to use it judiciously but in practice no department is serious to entertain RTI act thereby making the mockery of the law. He appealed to the CM to take serious and rigorous actions against department which failed to reply the RTI filed by him. |
