DDF holds protest dharna, projects various demands | | | Early Times Report DODA, May 10: A public meeting and protest dharna was staged at Old Bus stand here by Doda Development Front (DDF) to press their demands. The speakers criticised the policies of government for not granting the sanction of their demands so far. The construction of old Ganpat Bridge has not been restarted inspite of assurance given by the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on December 14, 2011 that the work on the bridge would start from March 1, 2012. The front once again requested the Chief Minister to fulfill his promise other wise the front is compelled to come on the streets. The other demands raised by the Front include the construction of two tunnels one at Marmat/Assar to connect district Udhampur with Doda the other Kapran, Anantnag, establishment of High Court Bench at Doda. Consolidation of the district Offices at Doda with establishment of B Ed College, Starting of Universities Campus and the construction of infrastructure for the campus and establishment of Veterinary College, Polytechnic college, ITI girls and opening of girls college at Doda. Ghulam Hussan Pampori Vice President DDF said that DIG Office was started in 2007 and was asked to start it from Doda the central place of the two other districts of Ramban and Kishtwar but so for the government order has not been honoured by the department. He demanded that the DIG office should be shifted at once to Doda. |
