| Sham, Dar inaugurate medical camp | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 10 : Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma today inaugurated a 3-day medical camp held for physically challenged people. Minister of State for Health, Medical Education, Javed Ahmed Dar besides Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Sanjeev Verma, Director Health, s Madhu Khullar, Director NRHM, Dr Yashpal Sharma, Director Horticulture, J N Sharma, Director Floriculture, K K Sharma, CMOs, BMOs, Superintendant and HODs of the Department were also present on the occasion.
Being organized by Directorate of Health Jammu in collaboration with Viklang Chhatra Trust (VCT), Akhnoor and Bhagwan Mahavir Viklang Sahayata Samiti, Jaipur, this camp will provide artificial foot limbs to the amputees and polio victims.
Speaking on the occasion, Sham Lal Sharma lauded the efforts of VCT, an NGO working for the welfare of handicapped, poor and downtrodden, for extending such vital services to the needy people through such camps. He said that the endeavours of such philanthropic organizations are definitely supplementing the efforts of the government in providing much needed succour to the poor and deserving people.
He expressed optimism that the trust will continue to serve the mankind with same spirit and dedication and assured every health from the government to such agencies who are doing a yeomen services to the society. With an objective to extend financial support to the trust, the Minister also approached JK Bank which has donated lakhs of Rupees to the NGO to help the handicapped. MP, Madan Lal Sharma has also donated Rs.10 lakh for the camp from his Constituency Development Fund.
The camp is being attended by hundreds of people from various districts of Jammu province who will be provided free artificial foot limbs. |
