Mela Kheer Bhawani Jagti migrants demand free transport

Jammu, May 10: Activists accompanied with office bearers of Soan Kashmir Front J&K and Jagti Tenement Committee Jagti Camp Nagrota held a meeting under the presidentship of Shadi Lal Pandita president Soan Kashmir in which members urged the govt to provide free transport service to migrants during Mela Kheer Bhawani in Kashmir. During the course of meeting members expressed concerns over the apathy of the Government in power curtailments in Jagti Migrant Camp. Addressing the meeting Pandita said that though assurances were given to restrict power curtailments in Jagti migrant camp but power curtailments yet have been effected thereby adding to the sufferings of the inmates of this camp. It has been said in the meeting that in case any untoward happens in this Migrant camp due to prolonged power curtailments the Government shall be held responsible. The members further said that Mela Khir Bhawani (Jeshtha Ashtami) on May 29 as per previous practice the Government should ensure free transport to the devotees for their to and fro journey from Jammu to Khir Bhawani and grant of permission to the Private Buses for plying from Jammu to Srinagar (Khir Bhawani) and vice versa. "The Yatra shall proceed on 28th of May 2012 and will assemble to Toll Post Nagrota whereby from they will board the buses for their onward journey to Khir . Bhawani, he said. The Vice President Vijay Koul, Rajinder Dhar Youth President, Kuldeep Koul, General Secretaries and others also spoke in this meeting.
