Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena protests against 'power cuts' after durbar move | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 10: Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena today held a massive protest demonstration against the frequent power cuts in winter capital of state particularly soon after the Durbar Move. Led by Kuldeep Luthra Chairman, Shiv Kumar Dy Chairman, Vipin Hindu President and Ashwani Gupta Working President of the Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena, the activists demanded relief from the frequent power curtailment. Raising slogans against the power department in Jammu, which is increasing day by day, the protestors, alleged that inefficient govt is unable to provide the basic amenities to its people. "Besides students, the business community is also affected with the scheduled and unscheduled power cuts, they added. "Moreover when almost 90% meters are electronics and the Govt. had promised to provide the regular power to the metered area, then why it had failed, they said further adding, "though main defaulter is Govt itself as more then 80% of outstanding of power bill is with the Minister's houses and other Govt. departments, which never pay the power bills and misuse the power.' The Rashtra Shiv Sena warns the Govt. as well as Power Development Deptt to set the power supply right with in few days, other wise we will be forced to come to the roads. Vikas Dewan, Rakesh Kak, Ravi Verma, Rajinder Gupta, Ranjit Singh Bali, Ch Nathpal, Surinder Mahajan, Puran Singh, Ashok Pandey and others also participated in protest staged today. |
