MLA moves privilege motion against DDC Kathua Zahida Khan

jammu, May10: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Charanjit Singh today moved a Breach of Privilege motion before the Speaker Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly against District Development Commissioner, Kathua Zahida Khan for deliberately violating Government order to degrade and lower MLA's status as a legislator in the eyes of the general public by showing herself as chief guest and MLA as guest of honour on the invitation card of annual day celebrations. According to the copy of privilege motion bearing No: MLA-Kth/2012-12/780, MLA Kathua Charanjit Singh has stated that Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya Kathua on the directions of the DDC Kathua who is also the chairman of the Vidyalaya Management Committee, KV Kathua invited the prominent citizens of the tehsil Kathua for celebrations in Vidyalaya premises through invitation cards.
But invitation cards to surprise of people mentioned the DC Kathua as chief guest, MLA Kathua further stated that the invitation scripted : "Zahida Parveen Khan ,DDC Kathua (chairman Vidyalaya Management Committee Kendriya Vidyalaya Kathua) will grace the occasion as Chief Guest while as Charanjit Singh( MLA Kathua) will be the special guest."
However, he did not attend the function which was organized to bring defame for him, he added. Demanding action against DDC Kathua, MLA Kathua further alleged that DDC Kathua has brazenly violated Government Order no 13-HP of 2001 read with the Government Order No 8-H&P regarding J&K State warrant of precedence issued by the Secretary Hospitality and Protocol Department which indicates the position of MLA at S NO 21 B and the DDC at S NO 29 in the annexure of the order.
Meanwhile, DDC Kathua Zahida Parveen Khan took the reports as set back. Admitting fault she said that it was the mistake of the principal of the institute who made the invitation letter. She further said that the mistake was committed inadvertently.
