5/11/2012 10:38:03 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, May 11 : May 11-The historic initiative of training the party cadre at the mandal/ block level by conducting more than 50 training camps in the entire Jammu province took off at Arnas, the peripherial Mandal of Reasi District, which was addressed by BJP State President, Shamsher Singh Manhas, Chief Spokesperson, Dr. Jitendra Singh, who is also Prabhari for Reasi District, State Secretary, Yudhvir Sethi and Distt. President Kabla Singh. Manhas,in his first inaugural varg, said that inner party democracy is the hallmark of BJP and an ordinary party worker has a say in the party which he can put at the highest level without any hindrance. All the office bearers from the Mandal level to the national level are elected by vote or by consensus and not by appointment.
This party does not have any tradition of one family dominating, the organisation nor does one person's word constitute law for the party. The purpose of organizing these vargs is to inculcate in the rank and file of the party, the spirit of nationalism and social service and treating the political work as a means of serving the nation and making it strong and vibrant ,which is the article of faith for the party.
For attaining these goals, it is essential that the party should be able to govern the country by being successful in the elections.
All party workers must work towards achieving this goal. These vargs constitute a bold and path breaking attempt towards this. Dr. Jitendra Singh, while addressing the inaugural session of the varg said that "Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is not a mere political party but a nationalist cultural movement aimed at keeping alive the thousands year old civilization of India with all its ethos of humanism, brotherhood and uncompromising commitment to motherland". He, while dwelling on the history, growth and ideology of BJP, cited references to disapprove the false propaganda unleashed against the BJP by the Congress and some other pseudo-secularists. He said that Mahatma Gandhi is on record having appreciated the good work done by the Sangh Parivarand .He reminded that Bapu had addressed the Sangh Sammelan at Wardha in 1934 and the Sangh workers at Delhi in September 1947 just a few months before his tragic assassination. Describing the BJP as the only truly secular political party in the country with equal concern for Hindus, Muslims, Christians and Sikhs, Dr Jitendra Singh said that the party could not have captured power in Goa State Assembly recently without the support of minority Catholic Christians.
Singh said that Shyama Prasad Mukherjee had founded Bharatiya Jan Sangh not for any political ambitions but because he felt that a political arm was essential to achieve the goals of Indianhood envisaged by the Sangh "Sangathan". Referring to special challenges in Jammu & Kashmir, Dr Jitendra said Kashmiris the"Balidaan Bhoomi"of Mukherjee and it is because of steadfast stand of the party during the recent years of terrorism that separatists and separatist friendly forces in the State could be kept under check.
Yudhvir Sethi in his address, threw light on the qualities required of an ideal worker. They should be committed to the ideology of the party, having commitment towards the nation building and hence towards the responsibility vested in them by the party. They must disabuse their mind of any negative thoughts and approach, besides also maintain good rapport with other workers and the leaders. Kabla Singh focused on election scenario in the area in respect of BJP. He said that people want change and are fed up with corruption, nepotism and favouritism and BJP can capitalize on it and stands a good chance to come to the position to effectively serve the people .
