Protests in Janipur area against non-supply of power | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 11 : Spontaneous protests erupted today in Janipur area against the state government and the Power Development Department (PDD) for the PDD's failure to supply electricity in the area. Addressing the protesters, Mushtaq Ahmad Chakuta said public of the area are facing lot of difficulties during the summer season because of electricity failures. Shri Ram Sena held the PDD squarely responsible for big blaze at the vegetable Mandi Narwal onTuesday night in which property worth crores of rupees was reduced to ashes. State president Ram Sena Rajiv Mahajan alleged that the fire incident seems to be handiwork of some mischievous elements who took benefit of darkness due to power cut in the area at that time. Mahajan said the fire incident could have been averted if there had been light at that time, the miscreants would not have dared to accomplish their destructive plan or would have been recognized and nabbed if the area had electricity when the incident occurred. Mahajan held PDD solely responsible for this incident and demanded all losses be recovered from PDD because it all happened due to the power cut. Mahajan alleged that almost all the thefts and other crimes take place in the garb of darkness. Mahajan impressed upon PDD to do away with all power cuts during night hours so that no crime in the garb of darkness takes place. Mahajan warned if any crime happened during power cuts the whole responsibility shall lie with the PDD. |
