NSF protests against unscheduled power cuts | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 11: National Secular Forum (NSF) activists held a protest demonstration at University against the unscheduled power cuts in the Jammu City. They demanded regular supply of electricity. Addressing the protesters, NSF State President Dr.Vikas Sharma said that the power curtailments have creates problems for students who have to prepare the PG examinations, KAS interview and other competitive examinations. Dr.Sharma said that with the Darbar Move to Srinagar, the PDD has started imposing unscheduled power cuts in Jammu, which have added to the problems of the people in these days when the daily temperature is going up. "Moreover when almost 90% meters are electronics and the Govt. had promised to provide the regular power to the metered area, then why it had failed, he said further adding, "though main defaulter is Govt itself as more than 80% of outstanding of power bill is with the Ministers' houses and other Govt. departments, which never pay the power bills and misuse the power.' |
