| Army Public School Celebrates Annual day | | | Early Times Report
Jammu , May 11: Army Public School Akhnoor today celebrated its Annual Day and Prize Distribution Ceremony at Sangha Auditorium. Kiran Hira, Chairperson, FWO, Crossed Swords Division graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The Chief Guest on the occasion being welcomed by Brig AK Verma, Chariman, KCS Mehta, Principal, staff and students of APS Akhnoor. Kiran Hira lit the lamp to begin the ceremonies on an auspicious note.Beginning the proceedings of the day, Principal, KCS Mehta, presented the Annual Report that showcased the achievements of Army Public School, Akhnoor over the academic session 2011-12. The efforts put in by the students and faculty were evident as the students of APS Akhnoor have managed to win laurels in scholastic and co-scholastic events at the Division, State and National levels.
The cultural programme for the day was presented after this. It has been rightly said, and widely acknowledged that 'The hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world'. In an effort to raise awareness about women empowerment the students and faculty at APS Akhnoor had chosen Women Empowerment as the central theme for their Annual Day.
Dance, aerobics and fusion were the order of the day with energetic performances on Indian and Western Fusion, and a lyrical amalgamation of the dance forms of Jammu, Kashmir and Laddakh. Bhangra with its energetic beats was the grand finale of the day. |
