Gupta castigates Govt for mess, poor delivery | | | early times report Jammu, May 11: Former Union Minister and MLA Jammu West, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta has asked the activists to ventilate the problems faced by the people, especially those concerning basic needs including the electricity, water, rations, sanitation etc., which of course are the outcome of mismanagement and failure of the coalition dispensation. Addressing a gathering of the activists here, Prof. Gupta expressed surprise over the power crisis just after the closure of the civil secretariat in winter Capital and said that all of a sudden the supply of electricity has been not only heavily curtailed but also there are unscheduled cuts making life miserable in the heat of the summer. Prof.Gupta said that the supplies of rations through Government controlled depots have also further deteriorated with the closure of the Civil Secretariat here. And, it was intriguing that on the one hand there is cry of storing the food grains because of paucity of accommodations, on the other hand there is little wheat , atta, rice and other items at the depots. Prof. Gupta allaged the rationees are not being supplied as per the prescribed scale of rations. Prof.Gupta said that the sanitation conditions and digging of the lanes and roads in the name of laying the sewerage system is causing great inconvenience to the people. He assailed the Government for not conducting the civic elections and having an extensive revision of the electoral roles which are not only faulty but have been manipulated in several wards, so much so that the number of electorates in such wards is on the higher side than even the population listed in 2011 census. He said in several wards the number of electorates have been mysteriously deleted/missing raising many suspicions. |
