SDS opposes curtailment in Amarnath yatra duration | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, May 12: Expressing its strong resentment over the reduction of Amarnath yatra period, the Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS) Jammu & Kashmir has demanded commencement of the pilgrimage from June 4. Addressing a press conference here today, SDS president, Jagdish Dogra said the decision to reduce Amarnath Yatra duration by SASB is uncalled for and the Sabha fully supports the Vishav Hindu Parishad which is opposing the curtailment tooth and nail. He said various Hindu Organizations are of the firm belief that Amarnath Yatra should start from auspicious Jyeshth Purnima which is falling on 4th June this Year and should culminate on Raksha Bandhan day for which VHP has already started a nationwide campaign to aware the Hindu masses at the grass root level. We strongly condemns unjustifiable, unconstitutional and anti Hindu decisions of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board for declaring the commencement of Shri Amaranth Yatra from 25th June. We want that Shrine Board and the Governor in particular should reconsider their decision and announce the Amarnath Yatra from Jyeshth Purnima, which is falling on 4th June till Raksha Bandhan, which is on 2nd August, otherwise, Shiv Bhakts shall start the Yatra from Jyeshth Purnima and the entire responsibility shall be solely of the Governor, N.N. Vohra who is also the Chairman of SASB. |
