14 CCTVs to be installed in Kishtwar | | | early times report Jammu, May 12: In a bid to keep watch on anti-national and anti-social elements, Police Department is soon going to install about 14 closed circuit cameras (CCTVs) in hilly Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. "Various important chowks and markets besides sensitive locations across Kishtwar town will be placed under scanner with the installation of CCTVs in the coming days," sources here said. They said about 14 important locations were identified for the installation of the third eye, which would be monitoring every activity of suspicious elements. "The proposal has almost been approved by the Home Department and the work on installation of CCTVs would begin soon," sources added. "The proposal is a part of the programme approved by the Police Headquarter in view of security scenario," Gareeb Dass- Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range said. He said the installation of CCTVs will help various agencies to monitor suspicious activities happening in the town. The links of last year's Delhi High Court Blast surfaced in Kishtwar and three people were also arrested including the owner of an Internet cafe for an email allegedly claiming responsibility for the blast. |
