Volunteers protest; demanding re-engaging of NYCs

Jammu, May 12: A large number of National Youth Corps (NYC) hailing from Udhampur, Samba, Reasi, Kathua, Poonch, Kishtwar, Jammu Doda and Ramban under the banner of National Youth Corps Association (NYCA) today assembled here outside the Press Club Jammu and demonstrated against State Govt alleging it for being non serious to address their issue. i.e their re-engaging.
While addressing the protestors, the vice president NYCA, Asif Ali Bhat said, "Govt should issue a formal order of continuation our service without playing with thousasands of NYC recruited by the nodal agency. He cautioned the state government if government fails to do so the NYC will be left no option but to continue mass protest through out the state including 'Civil Secretariat Gherao.'
He also condemned the NYK Sangathan, Youth for Udaan and Himayat faking the career of the unemployed youths across the state.
Sayed Bakar Jafri State Joint Secy NYCA, criticizing the govt silence over the issue, he said that government needs to look seriously into the issue. Asif Mir and Distt President Kishtwar Abid Shaikh also condemned the approach of the government and reiterated the Govt should continue our service and save future of 8000 NYCs. They however lamented if the Govt fails to do so many of the NYC will have nothing but bleak future forcing them towards suicide due to depression. Distt President Rambn Mushtaq Ahmed, Distt president Doda Zanul Abdien Distt Vice President Ramban Najeena Shafia, Salma, Tanveer Ahmed, Saleem Jafar Toseef Bhat, Sunil, Anu Verma, Manzoor Ahmed Ravi, Waseem and Ajay also addressed the protestors.
