JD Fashion Institute's exhibition-cum-sale begins | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 12 : RECYCLE 2012, an annual exhibition-cum-sale by JD Fashion Institute began here today in the college premises. The two-day long event was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Kathua, Zahida Parveen Khan, who was chief guest on the occasion. The objects created by the students of all the courses were exhibited and put up on sale. On display by Fashion Department were designed sarees ,designer kurties and suits, trousers , tunics , tie & die suits and the interior department displayed items like designed trays, side tables, photo frames, innovative home furnishing items, lamps while exquisite costume jewellery was displayed by jewe-llery department . The exhibition was a result of one full year's efforts of the students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology. The response to the first day itself was huge and most of the items displayed had sold tags by the evening. Also a lot of orders were booked by the students for designer suits and kurties by some good fashion boutiques of Jammu. Zahida Khan took a round of the exhibition and was highly appreciative of the students' efforts and said that the students had put in a lot of hard work to come up with such wonderful creations. A unique setup of RE- CYCLE in the form of old and obsolete products were designed in innovative manner and the entire setup was designed by the faculty members and centre coordinator Stuti Mahajan. Speaking on the occasion, Maansi Gupta, centre director of JD Institute said our high academic standards have always made it easier for the graduates to get high profile and relevant jobs in a very competitive market. |
