Early Times Report
jammu, May 12: Right under the nose of police brass, criminals have re-started their activities here in the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir.
The recent incidents of vehicle lifting followed by number of reports of thefts/burglaries that occurred in different parts of the city are the pointers to the fact that criminal related activities have once again put the city residents to live under tremendous fear of criminals.
"With Durbar Move, certain police officers seems to be in a relax mood as earlier it used to be hectic days to escort Ministers viz-a-viz dealing with crime related activities," sources in Police Department shared to Early Times. "The failure of certain Station House Officers (SHOs) to act quickly after the occurrence of any crime related activities has led to increase in such anti-social incidents," sources further informed.
Three days ago, a young couple visited their family doctor in posh Gandhi Nagar area. They parked their motorbike outside the clinic and went inside. Within ten minutes, when they came back, they were shocked to see their two wheeler missing. A day after the occurrence of the said incident, another Scooty was lifted from the Gandhi Nagar locality in a broad day light. Though a case has been registered but criminals are still at large.
Similarly, number of complaints of thefts have been reported from different parts of old city in past over a fortnight but thieves continue to remain in their hideouts.
Pertinent to mention here that even the CCTVs installed at various locations here in the city could not help the separate police teams to trace the criminals.
