EP tenants hold meet, discuss grievances | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT jammu, May 13: The EP Tenants Welfare Society in a meeting held under the leadership of Inder Mohinder Tar Singh, its President was atten-ded by the members from several mohallas and discussed the grievances of the tenants. The main issue discussed is the dissolution of the nominated office bearers of the society on April 29 and the expulsion of former treasurer who was charged with corruption and anti-society activities by taking money for the tenancy transfer case. In this context it is resolved with a single voice that those who had been deceiving the tenants and indulged in corrupt practices should be brought to the light. Since the society has sufficient record to prove this, it demanded that the case should be handed over to the Crime Branch so that the corrupt and self styled leaders should be exposed and the common tenants are relieved this is proposed by all the members present. Tar Singh said that we are working on these lines and we appeal all those who have been deceived by these leaders during the last around two decades. Singh further said that our prime objective is to get the "ownership right" on the EP houses and the land and for the society for which started a mass campaign and the meetings are being organized. He informed that during his recent visit to Delhi he meet several Members of Parliament and apprised them of the grievances. The MPs assured to highlight the demands in the parlia-mnet. Tar Singh said that the Annual General Body meeting shall be held soon in near future and the seminar shall be held during the AGB of the society wherein heads of respective political parties, MPs, MLAs, NGOs intellectuals shall be invited. |
