NDS pays tributes to Vijay Malla | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT jammu, May 13: Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) in a meeting held here today under the chairmanship of Dogra Harish Kaila paid glowing tributes to renowned Kashmiri and Dogri Singer, Vijay Malla, who passed away here recently. Terming late Vijay Malla as ``Chota Ghulam Ali of J&K'', the meeting recalled the contribution of the legendary singer in the promotion of music in the state and also bringing fame to J&K by popularising Dogri and Kashmiri Ghazal singing. The meeting was among others attended by Prof.BS Bali, Director, Swar Kala Sangam, Yash Paul Yash, general secretary, Nami Dogri Sanstha, Prof. VN Kohli, president, Akashvani Door-darshan Casual Music Artistes Association (ACMAA), Randhir Singh Raipuria, president, Dogra Mandal, Nidhi Kaila, president, youth wing of NDS and Vigyan Bharti secretary, Swar Sangam Sangeet Vidyalaya. Two minutes silence was observed as a mark of respect to the departed soul. Prof. Anupama Sharma patron, youth wing Nami Dogri Sanstha on the occasion said that Vijay Malla's death has created a deep void in the music world. Senior advocate SS Anand Lehar said it was a great loss to the artiste fraternity and society too. |
