| Teacher's lone fight against fish trader | | ‘Ensure safety of children’ | | early times report
Jammu, May 13: Besides teaching children, he has to do other jobs as well. Presently he is engaged in a battle with a fish trader who has encroached the open space outside the Government primary school, Gumat where he teaches. The trader has already carved out windows in the building facing towards the school premises by throwing all the 'mulba' in the school premises. It is learnt the fish trader is renovating the building and fixing some machinery. To adjust the same he is making required changes within the building adjacent to the school premises in total violation of the norms.
The teacher has apprised the concerned Chief Education officer of the development who has forwarded the report to Commissioner Municipal Corporation. The local police officers and seniors in the department have also been apprised about the illegal activity but no action has been taken till date.
The fish trader, the teacher said, has been dumping `malba' in the school premises leaving little space for children to play. He has sought appropriate measures. |
