Bhalla reviews Amarnath yatra arrangements | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 14: Minister for Revenue Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla reviewed the essential services delivery scenario in Jammu and its peripheries, besides the arrangements being made by the administration to ensure smooth conduct of upcoming annual Amarnath Yatra, at a high level meeting here today. Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Pardeep Gupta apprised the Minister about the arrangements being made by the administration for the smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra. The Minister instructed to the all line departments to work in tandem so that the visiting tourists and Amarnath Yatries may not suffer for non-availability of facilities. He also asked the PHE Department to provide the drinking water facilities in sufficient quantity to the people of Jammu city during summer. He asked PHE and PDD to work in coordination to avoid any inconvenience to the people. Chief Engineer, PDD apprised the Minister about the power scenario in the city and gave detail of measures being taken by the department to attend to the emergency situations, including replacement of damaged transformers, checking of power and revenue pilferage , realisation of revenue etc. She also sought the help of the Minister in making sufficient transformers available at the PDD workshops for early replacement of the damaged transformers in various localities, the frequency of which has increased with the increasing load during the summer season. |
