AMCCC demands enhancement of relief | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 14: All Migrant Camps Co-ordination Committee (AMCCC) held its meeting here on Monday to discuss various problems being faced by the displaced people and highlighted various demands including enhancement of relief to exiled community. The meeting chaired by the Chairman Ajay Bharti (AMCCC) lambasted both state and Central Govt. for their failure in solving the burning problems of this community. Speaking on the occasion Ajay Bharti demanded enhancement of monthly relief in favour of Relief holders, who are also sitting on dhama for over 42 days. He also asked to ensure proper and regular supply of electricity, water supply, cleanliness and other related issues. "The Govt. should take concrete steps to improve the lot of Migrants and facilitate them with all the amenities of life, so that they should not feel any kind of harassment, he added. General Secretary T K Sharma in his address hoped that packages released by Prime Minister will be materialized in coming days definitely. Another members G.L. Bhat demanded that since majority of the migrants are without proper source of earning, thus atleast one member from each family may kindly be provided employment in Govt sector under Prime Minister's employment package. Among others who spoke in this meeting included Herday Nath, Virender Bhan, Omkar Nath, G.L. Bhat, Kuldeep and Sanjay. Meanwhile All Party Migrant Co-ordination Committee Jammu held a condolence meeting to condole the sad and untimely death of Vijay Malla, a renowned Kashmiri Singer from Gadood Bagh Habba Kadal Srinagar. A two minutes silence was observed in respect of the departed soul and rich tributes were to the departed soul "His death is shocking to every country men in general and the Hindus and Muslim of Kashmir in particular, members observed. They added untimely death of singer has created a gap which; cannot be filled. |
