| Rs 5390 fine realized for smoking in public places | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, May 14: A team of Food Safety Officers and Drug Inspectors of Drugs and Food Control Organization, J&K carried out a special drive for securing compliance of Section 4 of the Cigarette and other tobacco products (Prohibition of advertisement and regulation of trade and commerce, production, supply and Distribution) Act, 2003 which prohibits smoking in a public place.
Fifty-Two persons were found smoking in a public place such as Bus Stand, B.C Road, Jammu and a fine of Rs. 5390 was realized from the violators.
The team also installed signage's at prominent public places such as Jammu Club, Amar Singh Club and Best Price Multi Shopee Complex, Jammu displaying the warning "No Smoking Area - Smoking Here is an Offence". |
