JAMMU, May 14: A burglar was today apprehended by police at Billawar along with cash, gold jewellery and other items he had stolen from a house in the area. He was identified as Pawan Kumar, son of Nanak Chand of Bajwal, Billawar.
Police sources said Pawan had on May 7 last entered the house of Onkar Singh at Dhanu parole in Billawar, Kathua, and decamped with Rs 15,000 in cash, a mobile phone and gold ornaments, including a nose ring, two finger rings, earrings and a tika. The cost of jewellery was estimated at Rs 2 lakh.
All the items and the cash had been recovered from him, the sources added. A case was registered against the accused at Billawar police station. |
